Medathon
Medathon is a pioneering research initiative launched by a group of medical students at the College of Medicine, University of Duhok, designed to empower a volunteer cohort of medical students to conduct research within a condensed timeframe. The program inaugurated with a three-day intensive training (October 5–7) at the Clinical Skills Training Center, focusing on foundational research principles. The course was delivered by three esteemed faculty members: Assist. Prof. Dr. Ari Habib, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hazhmat Ali, and Dr. Azri Salih.
Following the training, 30 participating students were organized into six groups of five, with each faculty member mentoring two groups. Each group received a designated research topic and study plan, which they will execute and present at a scientific conference scheduled for late November.
This initiative marks a first regional activity enabling medical students to undertake research projects addressing key public health issues.
